HydroCalc A hydraulic engineering commercial product for sizing pipe for Fire Protection Systems. Designed to follow the input format of "hand calcs", it is very intuitive. Outputs designed to closely follow NFPA-13. Capabilities include Trees, Loops, Grids, and most hybrids. Built in help, samples, and free tech support. MssPrint engine Many Micro Space Systems DOS applications support viewing the text output in a Windows window and printing using Windows print drivers. Some programs will create files with the .MSS extension that contain formatting information that is understood by the MssPrint engine. These files can be forwarded to others and viewed independently with the viewer by installing this product. Version 4.0 supports the capability to create .PDF files from it's preview. There is no charge for individuals to use this product when used with .MSS or .MST files. Scoring An application to calculate scores for competitions of flying based events. Designed for Hang Gliding competitions from local to World events, it can also be used for Paragliding and Sailplane events. Scoring formulas are included for most of the major systems, plus you can design your own custom formula. Distances are calculated via Latitude/Longitude or UTM coordinates. Multiple classes can be scored separately and combined. HTML output is available. Included is a great circle calculator (which is also available as a separate module using the same turnpoint data). Arabic Made Easy A computer based training application on CD to learn the Arabic language. Spelling, pronunciation, reading, and writing are taught and an interesting interactive dialogue section is a unique feature. GemList A materials listing program for GEM fabrication plants for the Fire Protection Sprinkler Industry. The application reads and writes Lister .DAT files for sending orders to Gem Fab for materials ordering, but also includes a full reporting engine. Data entry can be performed completely with a mouse or via the keyboard. Since the program is designed specifically for Gem Fab ordering, the full program is generally available for free from Micro Space Systems. Inspection Tours An application for Grinnell field inspectors to verify the operation of fire protection sprinkler systems. Inspectors select from scheduled jobs, add devices from a pre-defined table, and answer questions as to the operation of those devices. A report can be printed on the site and the results emailed to the inspection manager. Designed for a pen-based lap top computer, it can be used on any Windows platform. Associated applications developed by MSS for Inspection managers are also available that communicate directly with the Tour program. Inspections Management The Grinnell Inspections management program was first released in 1987 and has been distributed nationwide. It allows Fire Protection Inspection customers to be placed onto a schedule and assigned to specific inspectors to perform the inspection. Invoices can be created based on a schedule or completion of the inspection. Exports of upcoming jobs are sent via Email to Inspectors that use the Inspection Tours program above, whose results are then Imported back in. The Grinnell Inspections Interface is a Windows program that can interface between several Inspections Management programs and the Inspection Tours program and provide accurate date tracking to alleviate the possibilities of missed inspections. Inventory The Grinnell Inventory program was first implemented in 1984. It allows invoicing fabrication customers, building of quotes, and creating Grinnell district orders. Inventory deductions are sent to Grinnell's AS400. P.O.'s can be created with a complete P.O. module similar to the P.O. program listed below. Inventory is restocked via P.O. acceptance received from the AS400. Inventory ticket tracking allows setting inventory stock amounts. Reports of stock history allow careful review of Min/Max definitions. New material is detected from an AS400 import. Special versions have been created for Grinnell Districts and Gem users. Purchase Orders The P.O. program is used in the Grinnell Fabrication plants. Requisitions are created based on Max/Min, Safety quantities and Box quantities. P.O's are created from manually modified Requisitions, placing orders to the AS400 with a priority towards Excess and Obsolete materials existing in other plants. P.O.'s are confirmed via AS400 communication. An automatic fax copy is sent to the Customer for their records via the internal modem. Accounts Receivable The A.R. program is used by the Grinnell Fabrication headquarters to track all A.R.s throughout the nation. It is a multi-user capable DOS program first implemented in 1992. Data is imported from the AS400 and manual entry confirms payments. Many custom reports allow careful review of summaries, details, taxes, salesmen, and individual customers.
