RV Computer setup
(All pictures can be clicked for a larger image in a separate window)
I use the front passenger seat for my
computer office when we're not traveling. I have a nice 3.2 ghz laptop with a 15 inch screen (1600x1200) and a 21 inch monitor (2048x1536).
The two monitors can be used simultaneously as one large desktop.
It is also connected to my backup laptop with a 15 inch screen (1400x1050) situated just behind the primary screen,
that is used as a third monitor by the primary laptop via the network.
The 32" LCD TV can also be used as a fourth monitor (1024x756).
The computer is networked to Noel's and we share an Internet connection (currently a WiFi at 1400 kbps).
There is room for computers to be located at the sides of the RV next to the front seats, but I'm using the laptops at this point and Noel has a standard computer box up by her desk.
When we hit the road, I slide the desktop out from underneath the monitor table, place the table pieces back in the bedroom, tuck the keyboard against the wall and move the monitor onto the floor. Takes about 5 minutes.
We've installed curtains that totally block the light so that it's easier on my eyes.
